QMI Robotics has pioneered robotic hands and joints that have the ability to collaboratively and adaptively grasp large and heavy objects . No other adaptive programmable grippers have this lifting and manipulation capacity. There are no competitors that can match our gripper joint and grasping power. According to the Workplace Safety Index, workers‘ comp claims are costing U.S business $60 billion plus annually. QMI-R’s value proposition solution will increase human productivity while effectively and safely addressing this crippling $60B “economics of ergonomics” manual material handling (MMH) cost.

QMI Robotics is solving the problems of cost and performance with today’s industrial robots. The proprietary patented ‘digital hydraulics’ technology can be used in a variety of applications from assembly to logistics to material handling. The flexible hydraulic gripper is able to lift heavy objects with greater accuracy and repeatability.

The hydraulic Gripper has a fingertip-to-fingertip span of 29 inches and can grasp objects from 15 inches in diameter to paper thin objects, so one gripper can manipulate a wide range of objects for truly flexible automation. Using a standardized gripper with such a wider grasping range greatly reduces automation expense for small and large batch manipulation needs that may vary from time to time.

Applied to collaborative robots, the hydraulic gripper can be manually taught pre-grasp positioning with little or no programming experience required. Programming modes include programmed pre-grasp postures for object approach, manual teach mode positioning, and conformal gripping.
